- Printer Locking Lever - Make sure that the cartridge is firmly in place and the locking lever is engaged - the locking lever should be in the vertical position.
- Battery Power - If powered via AA batteries replace the AA batteries or if powered by the rechargeable battery charge the battery outside of the printer: BMP21 Plus - Battery Pack must be out of the printer when charging it with the AC Adapter.
- Number of Contact Pins - There should be 5 contact pins inside the label bay for the BMP21-PLUS and BMP21-LAB. The M210 has 2 contact pins inside the label bay. Check to see if any are damaged or missing.
- Verify the smart cell on the cartridge is present and is not loose.
- Die-Cut Labels are only compatible in the M210. Die-Cut labels will not work in the BMP21-PLUS.
- A non-Brady-made label cartridge is being used. Ensure you are using Brady Authentic labels.
- 1/4" Material in the BMP21 (older discontinued version) - When the BMP21-PLUS and BMP21-LAB launched in March of 2014, a 1/4" Vinyl material was also launched. This material type/size is not compatible with the BMP21. If inserted into the BMP21, it will also give an Insert Label message.
If the printer is damaged or the above troubleshooting does not resolve the issue: The BMP21-PLUS / M210 comes with a 2-year warranty from date of purchase. See this article for more information: Does Brady Offer Repair Services for the BMP21-PLUS and BMP21-LAB? |
