Please follow these recommended steps:

1. Make sure that you have removed the shipping blocks from the base of the machine, as well as in the lid. These protective foam blocks are connected by a blue film and prevent the machine from being damaged during shipping. They put pressure on the print head and may distort or deform the print on the label.

For more detailed information about the shipping blocks, please see: BBP85 - Poor Print Quality / Foam Block under printhead

2. If your label stock is made from older B-582 glow-in-the-dark material, please arrange with your distributor, customer service or technical support to replace them with B-526. B-526 is the replacement for B-582, and glows brighter and longer.

3. If you are doing large reverse prints:
  • Increase the print burn energy closer to Max (10) . As always when raising heat, use the minimum amount needed to get the quality of print you need. Running the printer hotter then needed will wear out the print head more quickly.

For help increasing the burn energy: BBP31 / BBP35/37/ BBP85 - How to adjust print density ( print darkness or burn temperature )

4. Clean the print head to prevent streaking. A cleaning pen
can be purchased on Bradyid.com or through a local distributor. The catalog part number is 64692.
  • This is true even for printers out of the box due to possible residue leftover from new unit testing
  • It is critical a non-linting cloth is used after the head is cleaned to wipe off the removed debris.
If repeating steps 3 and 4 do no resolve the issue, the print head itself may be damaged, contact Technical Support.
