TitleBBP30 / BBP31 / BBP33 - Error 55 / Media not detected
Body

Error 55 usually indicates that the label material has been fed into the cutter chute beyond the black rubber roller. To properly load the material into the BBP33/31/30 printer, please pull the label material forward on the black rubber roller. Do not feed the front edge of the label into the cutter chute.

Note: A number of materials are no longer compatible with the BBP33/31/30 model printers due to cutting issues. Please reference this article for more info: Brady Printers - Error 51, Printer Backfeeds with Error 55.

Clean the Printer Sensors

If the Error 55 persists it may indicate debris covering the sensors is preventing front-edge media detection. Adhesive buildup on the front edge sensor is the most common cause of error 55. however we recommend cleaning all 4 sensors for good measure and reliable printer performance.

  1. Notch Sensor
  2. Ramp Sensor (Note: The BBP31 does not have a ramp sensor)
  3. Front Edge Sensors
