Loading the Label Media 


 

 

  1. Hold the roll holder with the green tab on the right-hand side during loading. 
  2. Squeeze and hold the green tab on the right and slide the margin stop outward and off the holder.

  1. Load the labels onto the media holder. The labels should come over top of the media holder.

  1. Squeeze and hold the green tab on the right while sliding it back onto the media holder and push it to the left until it stops and the roll auto-centers.

  1. Lift the printer cover and press the green button to raise the print module. 
  2. Insert the label roll down into the printer, making contact with the smart cell reader.

  1. Feed the labels under the print module, threading the leading edge of the label between the red media guides. 
  2. Rotate the red dial for the media guides away from you until the media guides touch the edge of the liner of the label. 



Loading the Thermal Transfer Ribbon

 


Note: IP Enabled ribbons are required. The IP Enabled ribbon has a supply spindle already attached.

Install the Ribbon
 
  1. Open the lid of the printer and press the green release button to raise the print module. 
  2. Position the square end of the IP-Enabled ribbon in the square notch of the black retainer wheel on the right-hand wall on the bottom side of the print module. Slide the pin on the left end of the ribbon roll away from you into the slot on the left-hand until it snaps into place.

  1. Pull out about 10 inches of ribbon off the supply roll and let it lay on top of the label material and green print roller. 

 Install the Take-up Spindle 
 
  1. Lower the print module, but do not latch it close. Leave it slightly opened. 
  2. Install the empty ribbon take-up spindle by positioning the square end of the spindle on the right in the square notch on the green ribbon tension wheel. Insert the pin on the left end of the spindle into the slot until it clicks into place.

  1. Rotate the green ribbon tension wheel until the long green tab on the spindle is at the top facing upward. 

Thread Ribbon around Print Module to Take-up Spindle
 
  1. Thread the loose end of the ribbon forward, going up and over the front of the print module staying on the outside of the silver head and round bar, and underneath the take up spindle and up and over the back side of the spindle.

  1. Tuck the leading edge of the ribbon underneath the green tab of the take-up spindle about two inches in from the end of the ribbon. 
  2. Rotate the green ribbon tension wheel towards you for several full revolutions until the ribbon pulls tight and smooth with no wrinkles.

  1. Close the print module until it latches securely in place on both sides. 
  2. Rotate the green ribbon tension wheel to pull up any slack in the ribbon.
