Note: Use PCK-6 or 90% isopropyl alcohol on a lint free swab and compressed air to clean the printer.
Turn the printer off.
Lift the printhead module and remove labels and ribbon from the printer.
Clean the platen roller. Rotate the roller manually to clean the whole platen roller. If the platen roller is damaged it can be replaced, view replacements on BradyID.com.
Use the soaked lint free swab and clean the green part of the printhead. Be careful not to scratch the printhead or use anything sharp to avoid damage. Let the printhead dry for 2-3 minutes.
Clean the Sensors
Use compressed air to clean the Reflect/Notch Sensor, sensor number 1, and use a lint free swab to clean the Gap Sensor, sensor number 2.
Clean the Cutter (Auto-Cutter model)
While the printer is off, open the cover and lower the control panel.
Release the cut module (2) by pressing the plastic latches (1) and lifting it up then rotating up and to the right.
Turn the screw (5) counterclockwise using a 2.5 mm Allen Wrench and swivel the clamp with the lower blade (3) away from the upper blade (4). The arc motion of the blade separating is spring-loaded.
Remove particles of dust and paper with a soft brush or a vacuum.
Remove remains of adhesive with swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol (use Brady part number PCK-6).
