Body | Label Margins and Printer Tolerance
Margins exist to ensure consistent and accurate printing. For this reason actual printable area may not match exact label part dimensions. Non-printable margins can vary depending on the label size. These margins account for limitations in a printer's mechanical tolerances. In Brady Workstation, margins can be added using expand/condense controls. This may cause text to print off of the label.Printing to the very edge of a label also causes the printhead to fire on an uneven surface, this can cause damage to the printhead. This may also cause increase wear on the print head over time.
If a user is reverse-printing (using the ribbon to "color" the background), filling to the edges will often cause the ribbon to break.
