Issues & Symptoms
  • When attempting to install a driver, a user receives the "USB verification failed" error message
  • End users receive a message stating "unable to install printer, access is denied" when attempting to add a printer in Devices and Printers using the "add a new printer" wizard
  • Attempting to manually point to the printer INF is blocked by a message stating "This operation requires an interactive window station" message.

Cause

This issue appears to be related to recent security patches released by Microsoft to address the PrintNightmare vulnerability . 

At this time we are not aware of a workaround. It is not recommended to roll back security updates on network-connected Windows 10 machines. This issue must be resolved by a future Microsoft patch.
