Issue

Error 84 "Expected color not found: xxx" displays on the S3700 printer. 

Cause

The expected color panel not detected. The printer timed out searching for the correct color panel. The memory cell indicates the color is there but the system can't find it.

Troubleshooting
 
  1. Clean the color sensor by inserting the straw into the nozzle of a can of compressed air and align the tip of the straw with the holes outlined in the picture to the right. Spray air to clean the color sensors within.

  1. Replace the ribbon: S3700 - Ribbon and Label Compatibility Chart.
