The suggested preventive maintenance for BP‐PR+ Printer series is to clean the printer at least once a week or anytime you change labels or ribbon. (Whichever occurs first) Keeping the unit free from dust and removing adhesive and other debris from the printhead surface will extend the life of the printer and ensure quality print output.
To clean the Printhead and Platen Roller:
Turn off the printer power.
Open the cover, lower the front control panel and push the green print module release button.
Remove the transfer ribbon and the label stock.
Use compressed air to clear area printhead and tape path of dust or debris.
Use a lint free cloth or swab and a solvent of 90% isopropyl alcohol(90% or greater) to carefully rub the surface of the printhead.
Important: Be careful not to scratch the printhead. Do not use sharp objects to clean the printhead or platen roller. Caution may be hot after use. Ensure the unit has cooled before cleaning.
Use a lint free cloth or swab and a solvent of 90% isopropyl alcohol to carefully rub the surface of the platen roller.
Allow the printhead and media feed rollers to dry for about two to three minutes before loading material and restarting the printer.
