LabelMark 5 End of Life Information
Please note the LabelMark software must stay open during the whole process. Do not close LabelMark or shut off the computer.
1. Install the LabelMark 5 demo on the new PC.
2. Update both installations, the versions must match in order for the transfer to complete successfully.
- Note: LabelMark 5 can no longer be updated from within the software because the update servers are no longer active.
3. Open the demo version of Labelmark 5 on the new PC. Click Evaluate or Try (not Activate) to open Lablemark and then click on Help > License Transfer > Start Transfer.
4. This will create a license file. Name this file and save it on a USB drive or a shared network drive that both PCs have access to so that you can take this file to the PC that has the original installation of Labelmark 5. Do not close the software.
5. On the old PC with the activated Labelmark 5, open Labelmark and click on Help > License Transfer > Transfer This License. Then select the license file that you created in step 4 (it should be on your USB flash drive or a network drive). This will deactivate LabelMark5 on the original PC and put the license into the license file.
6. Take the USB drive back to the new PC and click on Help > License Transfer > Complete Transfer. Browse / navigate to the license file on your USB drive (or network drive) and select it. Your license has now been transferred to the new PC and LabelMark 5 is now de-activated on the old PC.
- Note: If "Complete Transfer" is not an option on the "new PC" (Step 6 above), this means Labelmark was closed after step 3 or 4. Select "Start Transfer" and save with the same file name, but save it to a different location (do not overwrite the original file saved in Step 4). Now that "Complete Transfer" is an option, select it and select the original license file and the license will transfer over.
