Body | When the installed ink cartridge cannot be detected by the printer we will see the printer throw an Incompatible Ink error message. - The Power LED will blink quickly - The status monitor shows an Incompatible Ink Installed error message
This does not seem to be a defect within the cartridge rather it has to do with the alignment of the ink cartridge in the printer. If the contacts along the back of the cartridge do not line up correctly in the carriage, we will see this message.
When ink is installed in the printer, there is just enough room for the cartridge to be seated improperly.
To troubleshoot this issue:
- Remove the cartridge
- Reinsert into carriage
- Push down on the 'Brady' Logo
- Close the top latch
Pushing down on the Brady Logo should align the contacts in the correct location, resolving the issue.
Additionally, please check the contact sheet along the back of the cartridge, multiple removals and installs can potentially damage the contacts which will render the cartridge unusable. |
