Body | This workaround applies to the IDPal, LabPal, BMP21, BMP21-Plus and BMP21-LAB.
1. Remove the cartridge from the printer.
2. On the back side of the cartridge there are 3 holes. The circular hole just above where the label feeds out is the ribbon take-up spindle. Inside the spindle are 6 splines used by the printer to advance the ribbon as it's printed.
3. Use a small flat head screwdriver (or tip of a ball point pen) and place it against the splines to slowly rotate the spindle counter-clockwise. This will take-up any excess ribbon and allow the cartridge to be used again.
- Note: The length of the remaining ribbon will now be shorter than the length of the remaining label material (because you manually advanced the ribbon). You will most likely have a small amount of unprintable label left over at the end of the cartridge.
