A6500 Print to File Feature in Brady WorkstationAs of Brady Workstation shell 4.10 (September 2020 release), you can now save A6500 label files directly to a USB drive, then transfer label files to the A6500 memory using the USB drive. These instructions also apply to A5500 operators.
Note: Unlike similar functionality in LabelMark 6, this process does not require installation or configuration of the A6500 printer driver.
- Launch Text Labels or Custom Designer and create a new file using the A6500 printer.
- When your file is ready to print, select Print.
- Select Print to File from the printers dropdown list, then click Print.
Note: If you do not see the Print to File option, then you did not create your label file with a supported printer (A6500, A5500, and A6200).
- Name the label file and save it.
- Copy this .prn file to the root of a USB drive.
- Connect the USB drive your A6500.
Note: Use the front USB port hidden behind the LCD screen.
- On the A6500 LCD screen, navigate to Import Files.
- Choose the .prn file on the USB stick, then choose to import. The .prn file can now be added to the list of jobs.
