Configure the i5100 for Direct Thermal Printing

1. Tap the gear icon on the printer display. 

2. Select Setup. 

3. Tap ribbon, deselect "transfer print". 

 
  • Note: Only special material types are capable of direct thermal. Brady's direct thermal material part numbers start with "DT"). If you have the printer in direct thermal mode with a ribbon installed, you will receive a "remove ribbon" error. 

Driver Settings - The i5100 Brady driver does not include options to configure Direct Thermal printing.
