Networking the A6500

Network settings must be configured from the touch screen menu for first-time setup and can only be done via an Ethernet (TCP/IP) connection.
 
Note: A6500 cannot connect via WiFi.
 
  1. Turn on the printer.
 
  1. Select the Gear icon on the printer touch screen for Settings.

  1. Select Connection.

  1. Select Advanced Network Settings.

    1. Select Ethernet.

    1. Select IP Settings.

    1. Choose DHCP to automatically assign IP address information.

    Configure a Static IP on the A6500

    Note: We observed an issue where an A6500 on a specific firmware version would not retain the configured static IP. See this article for more information: A6500 Static IP Address Does Not Save or Keeps Changing.
     
    1. Select the radio button for Static, select the back arrow to return to the Network settings screen.

    1. Enter network settings as required by your network: 
    • IP Address
    • Subnet Mask
    • Default Gateway
    • Primary & Secondary DNS servers
