BMP71 - How to Clean the Printer

Note: If you are experiencing a print quality issue or error message on your BMP71, try searching this knowledge base using the error message. 



BMP71 cleaning supplies can be purchased from BradyID.com.

Remove the ribbon and labels from the printer before initiating the cleaning routine. 

Clean with the Cleaning Card
 

1. Choose Config and press OK or Enter. 

 

2. Navigate to Clean Printer and press OK or Enter. 

 

3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

4. Place the cleaning card in the label compartment of the printer, inserting the left edfe of the card up to the black link under the ribs.

 

5. Close the printer cover, ensuring it latches.

 

6. Press OK to initiate the cleaning routine. 

Clean the Print Head

1. Using a lint-free swab with 90% isopropyl alcohol, clean the black and green part of the print head. 

Clean the Notch Sensor
 

1. Open the printer cover.

 

2. Using the lint-free swab with isopropyl alcohol, gently wipe the sensor before the platen roller and the sensor underneath the box.
