Cleaning the Print Head and Platen Roller
Clean the Screen
- Gently wipe the display screen until clean with Brady's Cleaning Kit (PCK-6).
- Remove excess Isopropyl alcohol with a dry, soft (non-scratching) cloth.
Clean the Printhead and Platen Roller
- Press the power button to turn the printer off.
- Open the printer cover and remove any cartridge currently in the printer.
Note: Make sure the locking lever is in the UNLOCK position. If not, you will not be able to access the print head.
- Using PCK-6, gently swab the print head.
- With the same moistened swab, gently brush the platen roller. You may need to lock the printer to access more of the platen roller.
Clean the Sensor
- Clean the Position sensor (the groove between the two black posts) with a can of compressed air or PCK-6.
Cutter
While the platen roller and print head may require frequent cleaning, the cutter does not require regular preventative maintenance. The cutter blades are Teflon coated to prevent adhesive build up and are rated for the life of the machine.
