Note: GlobalMark is obsolete and no longer repaired: List of Obsolete Brady Printers - No longer supported or repaired. The BBP37 is the replacement: GlobalMark vs. BBP37 Comparison Guide.
The GlobalMark 2 printer is supported as a Direct Print printer as of Brady Workstation Shell 4.0. While the GlobalMark 2 is direct print, the serial to USB hardware requires an additional driver called the "WinUSB Driver". Brady Workstation also takes care of this additional driver, however this driver may not install if the GlobalMark 2 is not connected to the PC prior to running the BWS Installation.
The following steps can be taken if the printer does not show up in the printer selection drop down as shown below.
1. Confirm BWS shell is 4.0 or newer (question mark > About BWS)
2. Confirm you are using a GlobalMark 2 printer. If your SN starts with "BPMGL" then it is not a GlobalMark 2.
3. Go to Devices and Printers (In Windows 10 type "Control Panel" in the start menu, then select Devices and Printers from the Control Panel menu). If you do not see "Brady WinUSB Driver" listed under unspecified, this means the BWS installation did not install a necessary driver for the GlobalMark 2.
4. To resolve this, you can manually point to the driver .INF file via Device Manager. Close Brady Workstation, then use the driver INF linked below to manually install the WinUSB driver. See this guide for steps to manually install a driver using Device Manager.
Note: This may require administrative privileges on your computer.

5. Open Brady Workstation and launch your application. The GlobalMark 2 should now appear in the drop down menu.
