Body | The version of Codesoft determines which files you are able to open.
Codesoft 2019 PROFESSIONAL (Pro) version, is a "Lite" version - it costs less because it has less functionality. In prior versions it was called Premier, Standard and Lite. Professional editions can only process Professional files of equal or lesser versions (Premier, Standard, Lite), not Enterprise or Ultimate. If you have a Lite / Standard / Pro version and try to open an Ultimate / Enterprise version, the file will be blank and need to be recreated, or some functionality that is only available in Enterprise will no longer work.
Enterprise, the full version available as single user license and the edition used in network licenses, was called Ulitmate in the Bradysoft version. Enterprise and Ultimate can open and process all Enterprise AND Professional files of equal or lesser versions.
- Note: Once you open and save an older Codesoft file in a newer version, it will no longer be able to open in the older version, because the older version will not know how to process the newer technology. So if you will still need to open and use the file in an older version, make a copy of the file to be opened and used in the newer version.
