First determine which Edition you want: Pro or Enterprise.
Pro is a "light" version, limited to 3 printers (your PC's default print driver and two Codesoft internal print drivers). See the attached comparison sheet to see the complete differences between the Pro and Enterprise (full featured) editions. Enterprise version is the full version. Network purchases always use Enterprise, and require the installation of the Server install in addition to the desktop/client install, which then points to the server in its configuration options. But a single user license for Enterprise is not a network version.
Whether single user (license on single PC; can be either Pro or Enterprise edition) or network license (license on a server, not on client PCs; only available in Enterprise edition), you must choose the license option that best meets your needs.
Perpetual Licensing
- Customer owns the software version (Pro or Enterprise - exact version: for example: 10, 14, 2018, 2019, 2021). No free upgrades or Teklynx tech support unless an SMA is purchased and current.
- Available in three forms: Keyed (license on a USB stick, AKA “dongle”) and Keyless / Softkey (activated on PC via license serial number and password, requires internet access on PC when using Codesoft).
- Keyless / Soft Key version only available in ONLINE licensing (PC requires constant internet connection). This is a change from versions 10 and below. Softkey Offline (no USB nor internet required) is only available with a Subscription license (see next section)
- Hardkey version is the only Standard license mode available OFFLINE, does not require internet access, license is kept on USB dongle which has to be attached to the PC when using Codesoft
- Will NOT work in a Virtual Environment
- Softkey Online allows up to 4 Activations (must contact Teklynx with activation request) and 7 License Transfers
Subscription Licensing
- Available in Hard Keyed and Keyless / Offline form. Expiration date is set by manufacturer at time of shipment.
- All Subscription Licensing is sold in OFFLINE mode (won’t constantly ping license server via internet).
- Subscription period options are 1 Year, 3 Year and 5 Year.
- The user has a notification at the bottom right of the screen indicating the number of days remaining on the subscription
- In final days of the subscription, the user is prompted to renew, each time the software is launched. Subscription must be renewed/purchased each subscription period.
- Five license transfers allowed. In case the license is lost due to damages to PC, reactivation request must be made to Teklynx.
- Includes SMA. You pay less upfront and are always up to date with the latest updates.
- Will NOT work in a Virtual Environment
- If subscription is expired, you cannot edit existing Codesoft files or create new ones. It reverts to "demo" mode which, if it prints, puts big X on images and changes text.
VM (Virtual Machine) Licensing
- Available in both Keyed and Keyless form
- VM Licensing is ONLY sold in subscription form.
- All VM Licensing is sold in OFFLINE mode.
- The user has a notification at the bottom right of the screen indicating the number of days remaining on the subscription
If you are requesting an upgrade, be aware that the Product Lifecycle is: We will only sell the current version and we will only sell upgrades from the immediately previous version. If you have an older version, you will need to purchase the latest software version at full price.

To determine current version (needed to place an order for an upgrade):
1. In Windows, click on Windows icon, usually in bottom left of screen.
2. Scroll down the alphabetical list of installed software until you get to Teklynx Codesoft XXX (version).
3. Click on that and there will be a Codesoft XXX License Manager. Click on that
4. Note the Serial Number, Key and Product info.
