What is Prompt at Print Time?
Prompt at Print time turns variable fields into simple data entry fields. End users manually type data into the variable fields versus importing from an external Excel spreadsheet. Serialized data cannot be entered into fields when Prompt at Print Time is enabled.
Note: Templates with Prompt at Print Time selected cannot be used with Data Automation.
How to Enable Prompt at Print Time
Note: This feature is also available when creating a Text Labels template
Prompt at Print time can be enabled for variable fields in an existing template, or for variable fields in newly created templates.
1. With your template open in Custom Designer or Text Labels, select Document Properties. 2. Check the box for "Prompt at Print Time". 3. Save your template
4. Open the template in Print Partner to complete data entry.
