BMP71 Top of Form Error
This error is most commonly seen when using bulk box rolls of labels or fan folder boxes of labels.
The labels should be fed in facing up with the notch in the liner of the labels fed in closest to the screen:
If labels are not fed in this way you may need to flip the labels in the box around for the fan folder, or if using the large bulk boxes make sure the labels are fed out of the punch out for the BMP71 not the TLS2200 which also uses the same box of labels: How to Load Bulk Label Material into the BMP71
Other causes and how to resolve them:
1. Installing a core for a different material will cause this error, due to the printer not seeing the notch when expected.
2. Platen roller is dirty and needs cleaning. Clean the black rubber roller (under the label where the bottom red arrow is in the picture above) with isopropyl alcohol: How to Clean the BMP71
3. Using newer materials with older firmware. Make sure the printer's firmware is the most current version. Update if necessary: How to Upgrade the BMP71 Firmware
4. Misaligned or damaged gears. Look at the white gears along the back when you open the cover. If damaged or stripped, call Tech Support for a repair authorization.
