Body | BMP71 Rechargeable Battery InfoThe BMP71 battery part number is M71-BATT. This part can be purchased on BradyID.com. See the attached SDS.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
A fully drained battery will take 4 hours to charge in the printer (longer if the printer is being used while charging). Charge with the BMP71 battery installed in the BMP71 printer plugged into the AC power port.
Can the battery charger overcharge the battery?
The BMP71 internal charger performs a C/4 charge. What this means is it takes about 4 hours to full charge a dead battery. Once the battery is fully charged, it switches to a trickle charge to maintain the battery. The charger also checks for over/under temperature. It is a smart charging system, which means it should not damage the battery. There should be no need to remove the battery when powering the printer off AC.
How many labels can be printed off of a full charge?
The BMP71 prints up to 3900 2" x 1" labels per battery charge but it is recommended to print up to 1000 labels per day.
What is the voltage of a fully charged battery?
A fully charged battery for the BMP71 should be between 12-13 volts. The minimum battery voltage that is required by the printer to operate is 9 volts. Below 9 volts the printer won't power on.
How can I tell the age of the battery?
The BMP71 battery packs have a date code on them for when the battery was manufactured. On the back of the battery will be a silver label that reads BMP71BPXXXX. The X's will be numbers. The first two XX will be the week (1 through 52) and the last two XX will be the year. For example a label that reads BMP71BP1713 would be the 17th week of 2013.
Warranty length
The warranty for the battery is 90 days.
