The BBP11 & BBP12 ribbon cores do not have a part number written on them. However, the ends of the cardboard cores are now being stamped with a color so that you can differentiate one Black ribbon from the next Black ribbon. All BBP11/12 ribbons that shipped from Brady's inventory after January 24th, 2010 will have the color code. Below is how to read the color code:
Stamped Red - R4313
Stamped Blue - R4913
Stamped Black or on a Black Plastic Core* - R6013
Plain Cardboard (No color) - R6213
Stamped Green** - R6413
Stamped Orange - R6613
White and Silver ribbons (R4413-WT and R4513-SV) will not be color-coded, as these can already be easily distinguished from the Black ribbons.
*Manufacture of the Black Plastic Core for R6013 started in 2012.
**R6413 was originally stamped Dark Brown but has been changed to Green.
