Extra Functions Available in Brady Workstation if activated with an app or suite license but not available in free Basic Design Suite.

Using Application Plugins in Brady Workstation

Several advanced functions allow users to do advanced or additional data imports, building sequence formulas, and modifying label orientation. These plugins are automatically included when the Custom Designer or Text Labels application (available only in PWID Suite in North America) or any suite that includes Custom Designer are licensed activated in Brady Workstation.  They are not available in the free Basic Design Suite after the free 30 day trial of Custom Designer is over. 



Excel Import

• Compatibility: Available in Print Partner, Custom Designer, Custom Designer Lite.

• License not required: Free - Included with Custom Designer Lite in the Basic Design Suite and Custom Designer Pro in the PWID or SFID suites.

• Functionality: Allows importing of external Excel spreadsheets. No advanced options such as filtering the spreadsheets. 

Advanced Import

• Compatibility: Available in Print Partner, Custom Designer, and Text Labels

• License: Paid - included with Custom Designer Pro and in the PWID, SFID, LAB, Print Partner and Data Automation suites

• Functionality: Allows importing external data from CSV, TXT, XLS, XLSX, MDB, ACCDB, OLE DB, SQL Server, BWAI, LMD

Basic Sequence

• Compatibility: Available in Print Partner, Custom Designer, and Custom Designer Lite

• License: Free - Included with Custom Designer Lite in the Basic Design Suite and Custom Designer Pro in the PWID, SFID and Print Partner suites

• Functionality: Allows creating numeric, alphabetic, or alphanumeric sequences. Only one sequence per field. Do have the option to add prefix using Before field or suffix in After field.

Advanced Sequence

• Compatibility: Available in Print Partner, Custom Designer, and Text Label

• License: Paid - included with Custom Designer Pro in the PWID or SFID suites

• Functionality: Allows creating numeric, alphabetic, or alphanumeric, Hex, Octal, Binary, Constant or custom sequences. Allows you do do multiple sequences (each are called elements) that can increment at the same time as additional elements within the Advanced Sequence, or After a specified element finishes its sequence.

Flip Flop

• Compatibility: Available in Custom Designer and Text Labels

• License: Paid - included with Custom Designer (individual app license or within a suite license) and Text Labels (within the PWID License)

• Functionality: Automatically swaps text items horizontally or vertically on your labels with the Flip Flop add-on module, this is especially useful for DataCom applications when you just need to reorder your data

Template Editor

• Compatibility: Available in Custom Designer and Custom Designer Lite

• License: Free - Included with Custom Designer Lite in the Basic Design Suite and Custom Designer single app license or in any licensed suite that includes Custom Designer.

• Functionality: Allows creation of and editing of existing template files which can be opened in Print Partner for data entry and printing, or used in Data Automation or Scan And Print suites.
